Well I still haven't figured out how to post a picture yet. On yesterday entry I tried to show a picture of Oliver. I asked for a little help and this is what I got.:-)

Can I get a little help?

I come to visit Iowa and Chris and Cory send me to the basement to frame walls so I asked for a little help and this is what I got. This is Oliver, Chris's son and one of three kids here that I can torment.

They did give me short break to eat.

Thanksgiving Day

Brrr, it is cold up here at the lake, but their lovely cabin is warm and toasty. It was so strange when you opened the door and the below zero temperatures met the warm room air, there was a cloud. Cory took this picture so you can get the idea, just not the full effect!
Emerson enjoys her food, and this turkey leg was too big to hold!
We had a lovely dinner with all the trimmings, children laughing and crying, reading stories all indoors!
I am thankful for all of you in our lives. Love.

This is vacation?

Kenda and I are now at Cory and Chris lake house. Chris and family will be joining us tomorrow and we will then frame in the basement. They like to give me little projects to do. Tomorrow Kenda will get to watch Emerson while the boys drive nails.

Well packed car

Tom packed 2 tires, 4 chairs, luggage, presents and a pineapple

Had to leave the pets behind but they are being well cared for.

Day one is now complete. We are now at Cory's, arriving last night to a warm welcome and a warm meal.   Cory is at work, going in at 4 this morning and will be back by 8 this morning.  Then he puts us to work grocery shopping for Kenda and lumber shopping for me. Then on to the lake house

Leaving Home

Tomorrow Kenda and I will be leaving home and start our adventure heading west.  With Katherine's help setting up this site I/we will attempt to keep people informed of our adventures or misadventures.  Maybe even adding a few pictures.  Right now the car is loaded with four kitchen chairs and two studded snow tires.  One does have to be prepared for any and all occasion.   I think our suit cases will fit into the car.
On the road tomorrow,  Tom

Bon Voyage!

And they're off!

Mom and Dad leave tomorrow morning at 10am.  First stop, Pleasantville, Iowa to see Cory!

Safe travels!
